The steeper and more direct finish to Parallel A gully. Take the narrow right fork where the main gully is split by a wall near the top

Peter had an epic struggle with the cornice.

Intro to Lochnagar, lead pitches 2,4 and 6. Desperate time on run out snow and cornice well into the dark. Otherwise awesome.

Plan B as partner failed to materialise, no booby prize this though. Lovely snow ice on direct start and middle section, minimal powder in gully. Decided to go for right fork as it looked well iced and not so much powder as left fork. Cornice was a little bigger than I had hoped, took about 20mins to exit.

Somehow got both the hollow ice pitch at the bottom and digging a trench through the cornice whilst standing on an unnervingly soft snow-ridge. Good variation route though.
