Climbed as a 3 in the rain with with full waterproof, rucksacks and hiking boots. Made an easy climb a more challenging outing, was hanging by my fingertips on the first pitch which resembled more of a stream. An enjoyable change, if a little daunting at times.

This was trickiest climb to date and four of us together made for a bit of shifting around at the belay ledges. I had it easy - no leading. I did some technical moves I've never done before so quite proud of myself. I have a tendency to hanker for jug holds and quite a bit of this route is about legs only and trusting your sense of balance rather than pulling on a hold. There was some foot jamming and - I don't know the technical term - 'humping' the rock like a dog, squeezing with legs, knees, thighs and arms on some of the corner edges. It became harder when it rained as the rock felt slippy as ice. Survival instinct kicks in though and I somehow managed the top 2 pitches. We went wrong on the climb down too so slipped down a heather, fern and rock mud slide to get to the bottom. Didn't half make for a good pint at the pub though! The people I was with are the real stars and wouldn't let me give up at the start - thanks to Badger, Lee and especially Bruce as he introduced us to the Crag and also the Duddon Valley which is gorgeous.
