Thunder Crack** E1 5b

Rockfax Description
12m. The steep crack springing from the hollow in the right-hand side of 'D' Buttress is approached easily then gives a short tussle on solid jams. Good sport. © ROCKFAX

SarahA - 2nd dnf - 30/Jun/14

Definite sandbag at E1 5b... Also didn't help that all the holds were very very sandy, the inside of the cracks were vegetated/green and that the jams were a bit too big for me. Otherwise, it would be a pretty decent climb with a good, powerful crux section.

Must be harder than 5b.

Hidden - Lead O/S - 05/Jul/11

Rough, tough and rugged esoteric jamming. Just managed to sort my feet and the crucial upper jam out in time.

Hidden - Lead - 02/May/09

the jamming crack can be protected well but the gear will make it impossible to jam. So it's either good gear, or poor jams...I chose gear:)
