Long Layback Crack*** VS 4c
[Big Layback Effort, 2 kb]12m.

Rockfax Description
12m. One of the classics of the cliff - a great line and with bold sustained laybacking being the order of the day. Very big cams might help but only if you can stop to place them. © ROCKFAX

Bloody hard and fantastic at the same time. Would be a serious lead! Not sure VS indicates how sustained or easy to fall it would be when trying to place gear! Bloody good though.

HVS 5a with Camelot size 5 and 6, E1 5a without them I reckon, great climbing. Layback it or stick a leg in the crack and wiggle.

How on earth is this a VS? It's either a death on a stick sustained 4c moves or very strenuous moves in an out of the crack to place giant cams if you have any. Great climbing though, probably the best of the day.

I was leading E2/3 when I had a crack at this. Was determined to layback all the way...fine until the awkward bulge at half height-I had no runners that would fit and none up to that point, so it was a 'do it or fall' move. Did it and decided E2/3 was easier!
