Took commitment to make the move over the cracked bulge and gear - felt like I was barn dooring off the layback and knew that once I reached the higher handhold I would have to keep going whatever came next as I wouldn't be able to release an arm to put in more gear. Very pleased to get to the top.

a nice climb. Slightly tricky start but nothing to crazy and then fairly flowing...totally overcomplicated one of the latter moved up the overhanging crack by laybacking and blowing my arms out, hence the resting....One to go back and climb clean as it was good fun.

The layback crux moves felt very scary indeed (there may have been a little whooping with relief once I got established on the ledge above). edit: Further to the above, until reading the other comments on this climb jamming on the high crack hadn't occured to me at all. I'm extra glad I made the layback work now (jams give me the fear).

Headpoint again, Frank preplaced the gear for us. Took two lobs off the crux, just couldn't figure out that bulging crack! Still no idea how to do it elegantly, probably easier if you could feel the rock ad that point, but laybacking was more of a question of balancing, Kept laybacking to the right, and barndooring out through the left. In the end I did the same, but jumped just a little at the end and get a jam/finger jug, and hauled myself over/scrambled/scuttled, into the scoop to for a sit down and rest. As the others, wont be leading any time soon. Up to the crux pretty steady but probably a little more commiting without gear preplaced.
