Crag features

A sparsely, or putting it another way sportingly, bolted quarry on the Whin Sill. Take a set of wires. Some of the routes are pretty good. There is an online guide, but Charles seems to have removed the links to it. E-mail the NMC for the guide by Colin Struthers.

Approach notes

The crags are 1KM E of Greenhead on the Military Road. The main crag is about 300mtrs from the carpark, on the RH skyline.

Does anyone know if climbing is still allowed here? I went to what I thought was this area and the crag is fenced off and signs are up saying "no climbing"?

Volunteer to moderate Walltown Quarry
We rely on volunteers to moderate their local crags. You would check updates and approve climbs added to the database. It's a very easy job, and all you need is a guidebook and an hour or two each month. [ read more ]
