Climbs 32 – Rocktype Limestone – Altitude 1300m a.s.l – Faces NW

Crag features
Quarried and hence some loose rock around ledges: best to abseil from tree belays (plentiful). Single-pitch routes up to 36m, none very outstanding (and some utter rubbish to be avoided).

Access notes
Leave the A465 at the Merthyr Industrial Estate junction (also signpost Mountain Railway). Follow Mtn Railway signs to the rail terminus, continue to Ponsticill and layby on L opposite telephone pole (used to be charred).

Climb the bank behind the pole, over railway line, to quarry.

It is now very overgrown and has and abundance of very loose rock. Looks to be a good venue if you'd like to clear each route before attempting it.

This could be a good venue, unfortunately its becoming somewhat overgrown. Lots of loose rock in places, particulalry at the top of the cliff. Still, some very good routes and well worth a visit if your in the area
