The Mine Western Cape general, SOUTH AFRICA
Climbs 60 – Rocktype Sandstone (hard) – Altitude 196m a.s.l – Faces E
Crag features
A steep pumpy crag with routes of 5 to 25 meters. Smooth hard sand stone (quartzite). The crag can get very 'schlauky' when the South Easter blows. Its a good place to climb when it rains.
UKC only uses the Aussie grading system. Altough simliar to the SA system it is slighly different. eg: a 24(6c+/7a) in SA is 23 in Aus/NZ. I have used the accurate french grades that were taken from Guy Holwill's 'Western Cape Crags' and put the SA grade in the route info section.
