Rocktype Sandstone (soft)
The Rock and Spindle is a tidal stack, consisting of a tower of conglomerate (the "Rock") with a peculiar circular basalt extrusion (the "Spindle") forming the east side of the feature.
Follow the Fife Coastal Path 2km east of St Andrews. The Rock and Spindle is very conspicuous, and can't be missed.
