One of the last great grit roofs to be climbed...in someones garden!! © Simon

Crag features

Stone Edge gives quick-drying, sheltered, south-facing climbing: ideal for a quick fix. Further up the track the large quarry is very disappointing.

Further along the B-road is one of the largest gritstone roofs in the Peak.

Good topo here.

Approach notes

The crag is situated just above the B5057 Darley road, about a hundred metres from the junction with the A632. The best approach is to walk to the road junction and take a well trodden path into the woods over the back of the main crag. Do not jump the gate/fence by the parking spot.

Restricted Access

Climbers have once been asked to leave by the landowners, citing fear of liability as the main reason for withdrawing access. If this happens again please take contact details and pass on to the BMC access rep.

Just my opinion though. Would benefit from more traffic as rock was dirty on my visit. I'll give it another go at some point.

I think the write up is slightly misleading. Except for one problem I thought it was pretty poor bouldering. Greasy, green and mostly poor rock quality.
