Climbs 32 – Rocktype Limestone – Altitude 150m a.s.l – Faces W
Crag features
Superb climbing on good quality, steep rock up to 40m high. Best routes E1 and above. The 'crag' is split into an assortment of pinnacles and walls. At Pickering Pinnacle go for its Overhang (E1 5b), The River (E4 6a) or its best route Monsieur Mange Tout (E6 6b). On nearby Pickering Wall, Thunderball (E1 5b) is the route to do. Finest climbing to be found on Watchblock Buttress. Nancy Whisky at E1 5b is worthwhile, but Adjudicator Wall (E3 6a) and Wall of Straws (E5 6b) are in a class of their own.
