Crag features

Bennan Head is the most southerly point on Arran. It provides one good, long route which is well worth a visit as a contrast to the granite in the north or when the mountain crags are wet.

Approach notes

From a small quarry, visible from the main road, follow the farm track past Craigdu, taking the right-hand branch to its end. Walk over the fields southwards to the highest point of the cliff where a path zig-zags down the slope. Follow the path to the beach, then go along to the Black Cave.
