Approach notes

Park at the old bridge at the head of Loch Fyne turning off the A83 at the sign for the microbrewery and beer garden (about I mile past Cairndow travelling from the central belt) but turning left on the old road rather than following up the glen (space for several cars).

Follow the road through the farm and past the brewery up the East side of the river crossing to the west side after 2 miles and following the river to a second bridge after a further  mile. Leave the road after crossing this  this second bridge back to the east side. The falls are on the hillside and obvious just to the east of south across the bridge.
Bikes would save an hour on the walking in and out.

The guidebook gives the grid reference as NN 228 159 but  I suspect the proper grid reference is NN 232 154. The route starts from a hydro collection dam and there is one shown on the 1:25000 map at NN 232 154 at 351m on the Sput Ban.

You may well be distracted by attractive boulders and, in a very cold spell  short steep icefalls, on the slopes between Achadunan and Auchreoch.
