Schoolhouse Buttress Isle of Skye, SCOTLAND
Climbs 9 – Rocktype Sandstone (soft) – Altitude 3m a.s.l – Faces SE
Crag features
[This description from SMC Skye and the Hebrides Guide, Vol. 1]
"This crag is very accessible, being situated 100 metres north of the school at Elgol. It lies west of a longer line of crag behind the ruined house. (Crag Moderator note: the 'ruined house' is now a rebuilt and occupied cottage. As a result access to part of the 'longer line of crag' is restricted.) Despite some suspect honeycombed rock lower down, the sandstone is generally sound, and gives good protection."

Great venue for a chilled out afternoon or as an addition to the other nearby seacliffs. Did Apiary Arete, Schoolhouse Buttress, Schoolhouse Rock & Beekeepers Bother. Thought they were all worthwhile routes with some good climbing. Beekeepers Bother is very good despite the odd loose hold.

Schoolhouse Buttress is a good VS, and the E1 up the pillar looks a good line, but everything else looks crumbly and pointless. Worth a minor detour if you've been on Suidhe Biorach.
