Rubicon Wall (Water-cum-Jolly) Derbyshire, ENGLAND
Climbs 97 – Rocktype Limestone – Altitude 200m a.s.l – Faces S
Steep, fingery routes where power and technique pay dividend. A high density of hard trad and sport routes up to 20m long in a veritable sun trap. Good for winter, condensation can be a problem on summer mornings. A popular bouldering venue. A mat will tame some of the trad routes (e.g. Pirhana and White Bait). First timers must do the scary Dragonflight (E3 5c) and/or the dynamic A Miller's Tale (E5 6b). Rubicon (7a+) is the classic sport route, altough Zeke the Freak (8b) is probably the best from an ace selection.
