Access Advice

The land is owned by the Holker Estate with special arrangements for accessing Lindale Slabs. Climbing is co-ordinated by the Castle Head Field Centre - contact them on 0845 330 7364, or email enquires.ch@field-studies-council.org

Castle Head Field centre, who negotiated access and placed the bolts, use the crag frequently and should be phoned before going to the crag to avoid overcrowding. (015395 34300). Also ESSENTIAL to get permission for access from the farmer who lives just north of the crag - THERE IS NO RIGHT OF ACCESS TO THE CRAG AND IT IS NOT ON ACCESS LAND.

Had a great 2 hours soloing there today. Brilliant sunshine, No-one about. Climbed 8 obvioius(ish) climbs, but no idea of grade or name? Anyone have the information? GM

Great slab for practicing abseiling as the top of the crag has extensive bolts and the face has a steady angle all the way down.Would be most usefull as a place to top rope beginners or children as the actual face has 4 crack lines from top to bottom to follow though there is minimal protection in only 2 of the cracks as they are shallow and flare outwards. Also the bottom is very polished until roughly 4ft upwards.
