Birkrigg Quarry Cumbria, ENGLAND
Climbs 24 – Rocktype Limestone – Altitude 85m a.s.l – Faces SW
Crag features
The rock has become extremely polished over the years and there is a lot of bouldering with a tricky lower traverse and a bold higher traverse to play around on.
The guides 'lakes bouldering' and 'lancashire rock' use different names and grades and only have a few of the climbs on the left wall, anything on the central and far wall past 'Swinging groove / Birks corner' only appear in the original routes done by Al Phizacklea in 'Rock Climbing in Lancashire and the Noth West'they start at number 6 on the picture but are quite high for bouldering but i use these grades plus the V grade as iv'e always seen it as training. There is a picture of the routes below and the alternative names have been given. If anyone has any information on why the climbs are different in the other guides please leave a comment.
