An esoteric gem in a wooded park. Plenty of developmental opportunity for the intrepid gardener. The rock is largely solid and provides good quality climbing once the lichen is brushed off.
Apparently, the rock from this quarry was used to build Leeds Town Hall. The old concrete air-raid shelter provides further historical interest within these woods.
Found in the woods just East of Pollard Lane near Bramley Falls. Access time is a couple of mins.
For Old Fridge Buttress park on Pollard Lane by the fields, walk downhill and hop the wall at the first passing place, scramble down hill to arrive at the top of the crag. Alternatively stroll easily through the woods to arrive at the base of the crag.

Well secluded and on public land.
Two of us had an investigate and cleaned a couple trad lines (just enough to climb them) , haven't touched the bouldering though there is good potential for the dedicated Furry Goose - 19/Jun/17 |

If people are still up for tidying this crag, I will be well up for it.
I had a walk through there tonight and noticed some good lines. Let me know your thoughts?
Cheers

I have been in here a number of times and thought the same! I will be moving back to Leeds around the end of June and would be very keen to get involved in this! After a few enquiries i have however been told that the land has changed hands frequently in the last 7 years with the aim of turning it into a marina for the canal and so there could be an access issue! owenzeboy - 08/Apr/13 |
