Horse's Head © tallthinmonkey

Crag features

Midway between Findochty and Portknockie and just west of Tronach Head a spectacular rocky crest known as the Horse's Head runs out seawards for some 30m. The west face and seaward end are of clean but very variable rock. Only 1 route to date.

Approach notes

Park beside the cemetery on the A942. Head north for the obvious marker pole at the cliff top. An embryo path leads into a bay on the right, looking out. Gain the west side of the ridge by a weird narrow tunnel, the Hole, which pierces the ridge and comes out on a grassy floored amphitheatre.
