Crag features

This is not a classic crag by any means, but it is a beautiful, quiet, remote spot in the Minervois hills.

The climbing is very technical and fingery on steep and overhanging walls. The rock tends to be a bit ‘shattered’ and blocky, the holds tend to be small.

Most of the good routes are sustained high 6's and 7's on bulging walls 20+m in height. The only easier routes are at the extreme right hand end of the crag and though on nice rock they are only 10m max length with 2 or 3 bolts.

Le Titanic is a standout sector for 6's and La belle au Doigts Gourmands for 7's

Due to its W aspect there is plenty of shade to be had in the morning. The crag is exposed to the Tramontane when it is blowing strongly.

Approach notes

From Narbonne take the D607 and D907 NW through Aiges-Vives to La Caunette. From here the roads become very small and singletrack. Take the D177 to the hameau of Vialanove and at the crossroads make a very tight left turn on the D175, following this to the parking. The crag is out of sight below in the valley the left. The location clue is when the powerlines cross the road. Parking co-ords are 43.377616  2.793910

Walk down a small a track on the left of the road for 100m and near a crossroads of tracks look for a small path that drops down into the valley and contours left under the crags. It is a surprisingly long distance below the shattered small crags before the first sector is reached and then again a long distance before the next more continuous sectors. There is a powerline pylon on top of secteur ‘La belle aux doigts gourmands’ this is probably about 700m after dropping down into the valley. Secteur Le Cauchemar psychomoteur at the far right hand end, is at least 1km along and you have to drop down to a lower terrace
