Ayagaures Gran Canaria, SPAIN
Climbs 41 – Rocktype Basalt – Altitude 413m a.s.l – Faces W
This is a deep sided Basalt Barranco (ravine) in a lovely location. The routes are long and technical face climbs on good quality rock. Most climbs are in the high 6's to 8a range.
It is too hot to climb here is summer and the walk will be dangerous after heavy rains because of the narrow path around the reservoir. The base the crags is fine.
From Maspalomas, follow the GC-503 towards Ayagaures. Pass Ayagaures and take the road on the left of the dam. Keep going for 1km until you reach the next dam, where the road finishes. Starting from the dam wall, follow the footpath on the left side of the water. After about 0.5km descend to the river and walk up stream for another 200m. Please note that the path around the reservoir is narrow in places and sometimes involves walking along wide, but round, water pipes.
