Safinah Jebel el Kest, MOROCCO
Climbs 5 – Rocktype Quartzite – Altitude 1235m a.s.l – Faces S
Three separate summits just beyond Ogogn, with high southern faces and a sloping northern ramp which is used to descend into the gully between these cliffs and The Fortress, down a well trodden Berber trail. Some really good long mountain excursions, though can get very hot, even in the winter months.
Accessed from the Samazar Valley track near Tamdakrt (or from Tafraoute direction down the Samazar hairpins). Park at a bend in the track just beyond Ogogn, which leads west, contouring across the hillside. The base of the cliffs can b reached in about 20 minutes.
