Crag features
The prominent square shaped peak to the west of the city. In between the neighbourhoods of Sao Conrado, Alto da Boa Vista and the Barra of Tijuca, Gavea is a nice hike in its own right and the home to many impressive climbs varying between 30 and 470m. The rock is good quality and is Gneiss up to the 'eyes of the face' and is Granite above. 842m
