Climbs 1 – Rocktype Ice – Altitude 1163m a.s.l – Faces NE

Crag features
A wonderful three pitch route and ideal season starter, when in good condition. Offers a fantastic WI3 wide ice slab followed by a 2+/3 middle section and ending in a choice of final pitches from Scottish II snow gullies, multiple lines between WI3+ and 4+, as well as the option for a mixed variation.

Climbs at this crag

Cross the tracks and take a left to find a parking place, by the old train shed is ideal.

Walk back towards the Farm and follow the road into the farmyard taking the first left, follow this track over the bridge and along until solid (Non-marsh) ground can be crossed up to the ice

The approach to the ice is far less strenuous for that of Tøftfossen but with deep snow this may be intensified.

Descent from the route is either by ice if you're unfortunate, or by following the mountain round and taking the long ridge opposite the Tøftfossen, avoiding the cornices and steep crags. Follow the ridge down the northern side of the stream to regain the road.

Time in: 1-2hrs, conditions dependent.
