Climbs 25 – Rocktype Ice – Altitude 700m a.s.l – Faces all
Guidebook http://www.tklm.no/images/dokumenter/Isklatref%C3%B8rer%20for%20Gudbrandsdalen%20og%20omegn%20v2.pdf (see page 18.)
Helvete ("Hell")is an ice/mixed-crag formed in a old river canyon, approx 4-500 m long, 2-15 m wide and sidewalls reaching 5-25 meters. The crag contains all kind of formations and changes alot during the season(Now-Aprile). The crag has been temporarely used since the 70s, basically as a training field and by groups where beginners (easy to set up toprope)and experienced climb side by side. Due to the history no first acsents should be claimed. And due to the big changes in ice conditions during the season grading makes little sense, except that the crag covers short routes from very easy to quite hard.
Avalanche risk caused by the steep sidewalls above most climbs should be considered.
