Crag features

Good quality rock with nice technical and moderate climbs, though lacking in quantity. The routes are quite close together and mostly well bolted. Some of the belay areas are particularly bad, not a crag for big crowds.

A once quiet and pleasant surrounding is now very loud and close to a huge new road development. The half hour or so when construction workers go for lunch brings much appreciated peace.

Approach notes

A general idea or knowledge of the Yangshuo area should be helpful to start with, though it can be found with surprising ease. A lot of the approach is the same as for The Egg and White Mountain.

Begin by heading East on Pantao Road in the centre of Yangshuo, following it South until you reach new traffic lights at the G321 crossroad. From here head East again, through another set of traffic lights and onto large motorway likely to be under construction. Continue on this road until you cross a bridge and the road improves.

After crossing the bridge pass the obvious large turn on the right and then take the small road into the village on the left. Now heading North follow the road right when it splits and continue on it for about half a mile or until a karst tower is close to the road on the right.

Turn right here and pass a small cluster of houses, then take the left turn at a large unused industrial building and slightly uphill until the crag is on your left. Two large chimneys are visible from the large road under construction that are helpful landmarks.
