Runcorn Hills

Cheshire, ENGLAND

Climbs 15 – Rocktype Sandstone (soft) – Altitude 35m a.s.l – Faces all

Crag features
A collection of small buttresses of generally good quality sandstone spread around Runcorn Heath.

The buttresses can take a bit of finding on first acquaintance but you use the map in the car park to orientate yourself. All the climbing can be accessed from the same car park as Frogsmouth Quarry

To get to the main buttress locate the Iron Cart icon on the map and head for that. Once at the cart you can't miss the climbing.

To get to 'Park Life', find the ranger's hut and it's in front of that.

There are a couple of smaller buttresses scattered throughout the woods but nothing has been recorded on these as I write and in any case the quality is generally lower than the main buttress.

Access notes
Easily accessible from Runcorn Train station (10 minute walk, if that) and from any Halton Transport bus.

Legs are bitten to death from standing in the abundance of flora.
