Home to a climb that has been vaunted as the best 5.7/VS in the world. Naturally a big part of that is the ascent of a piece of rock unlike any other in the world. Hey, they even put it on the state quarter for California.

Access notes
Permits are required for hikers ascending Half Dome on weekends and public holiays but not climbers. Out of season the descent cables are removed though abbing down their line is still possible as bolts remain.
