Fasnia Tenerife, SPAIN
Climbs 51 – Rocktype Basalt – Altitude 539m a.s.l – Faces ?
Four climbing areas facing in different directions offering sun & shade. The crags provide slabs & also steep and pumpy routes and are often better than a first impression gives. A brush may be useful after heavy rainfall to clean dust from some routes. A few sectors with longer routes will require a 60m rope. Topo available from Tenerife Outdoor climbing shop in Granadilla.
Leave the TF-1 motorway at the Fasnia-Los Roques junction. Drive in direction of Fasnia on the TF-620 until you reach the junction with the TF-28 (6.4km). Take a right on the TF-28 in direction of La Zara-El Escobonal. Stay on this road for 1.4km and take a left in direction of Arese-Archifiras. 100m after the first 90 degree curve to the right, you take the dirt track on the left behind the water tank. Continue on this track until you reach the Fasnia climbing area. Alternatively, if the dirt track appears too rutted to negotiate (even in a hire car), park in the small clearing opposite the dirt track. Leave nothing in the car, which should be common practise at all the crag parking areas.
