Crag features

Single pitch sport crag, mostly well bolted, 15m high, grades mostly 4c to 5c+. Pleasant secluded and shady setting in the woods on a steep hillside, south facing, and nicely complementing the other cragging options in the area.

Approach notes

Coming north from the east side of Aarau on the new bypass, park in a designated parking laybay with space for about six cars on the left, shortly after the roundabout, where the old road up to Staffelegg is joined. But you cannot turn left directly into the layby (road markings disallow it, it is on a blind curve), you must drive up the hill some way until after the dual carriageway where a left turn allows you to come back (such sensible driving may be rewarded on the way down with views of the alps).

From the layby walk downhill, cross the road and follow the wide track from pt.489 heading south-east up the hill into the forest. At the first hairpin carry straight on following a faint track, contouring round the hill, cairns and blue markings. After 300m pick up a wider track curving to the north and ascending. After two hairpins there is a marked climbers trail on the right, first descending then traversing in to the bottom of the crag.
