Vecchiano

Climbs 53 – Rocktype Limestone – Altitude 41m a.s.l – Faces SW

Crag features
"Historical" crag (first routes set up in the '60s?) with routes graded up to 7c and about 30 m tall. Most of the routes have been recently bolted (at least in 2010) but it is not rare to find old pegs as well.

Awesome spot for climbing in winter.

The rock is often polished, but it adds to the fun, together with the slightly sandbagged grades and the bolts never too close to each other.

Most of the crag is on private ground but the land owners are very climber-friendly (no fences or gates), reward their friendliness by behaving sensibly.

Access notes
About 20 minutes drive from Pisa. After parking on the side of the road, the closest routes are about three minutes walk away. Most of the crag is on private ground but the land owners are very climber-friendly (no fences or gates), reward their friendliness by behaving sensibly.
