Approach notes

Approach along a wide track leading northwards from the village of Botallack, keeping left of Botallack Manor, to reach ample parking just past the Botallack Count House (National Trust). Join the Coast Path just below here and walk south for 1km to a gate across the path. The same point can be reached from Kenidjack Cliffs by following the Coast Path northeast for a similar distance.

About 300m ahead, on the right of the path, is an old shooting butt, of the Napoleonic period, banked up with grass on its landward side. Make for this and follow an indistinct path down the slope trending leftwards. This leads to an easy-angled grassy spur almost at sea-level. To reach the slabs, continue down the spur and then go sharply right back down black rocks to cross a narrow rock bridge above an impressive gully mine adit. The main slab is 100 to 200m left (facing in) from the rock bridge.
