Entrechaux/Trois Rivieres is an interesting collection of short buttresses and walls which benefits enormously from having a north-facing aspect. This makes it one of the very few crags in the area where you can get shade throughout the day. There is a good variety of grades, and the crag has seen a bout of re-equiping around 2020 which has seen some rather esoteric bolts and belays replaced with more recognisable ones. The routes range from very short to just short and naturally they tend to pack in the difficulty. During summer it can sometimes get a bit buggy, so worth bringing something to ward them off.
From the junction of the D5 and the D4 at Mollans-sur-Ouveze, follow the D5 south. After 550m turn right onto a surfaced road - the turning is opposite a road signed for Mollans Centre - it is very close to an unsurfaced track - don't go down here. Follow the road for 3.8km. It is very narrow in places (it was once a railway line), and popular with cyclists. Pass the Trois Rivieres campsite, and continue for another 800m, through a short tunnel, until you reach the parking area on the left.
From the parking area, walk along the road for 70m (away from the tunnel) until you reach a track leading off to the left. Follow the track for 100m and turn off onto a trail on the right. Follow the trail for 70m to a cairn, turn left onto a steep, narrow trail and follow this a short distance to the base of the cliff.
On private land so please be considerate.
I'd have to say that the only thing going for this crag is that it gets the shade. DDDD - 13/Sep/19 |
