Crag features

Esoteric bouldering on the slopes of Houndtor Wood, high above Becka Brook.

Approach notes

About 100 m past the Trendlebeare Down car park is a path heading down a shallow gully, just opposite a small lay by. Head down this, then turn left on the path contouring the hillside. Follow this out into the broad ridge, and down into the woods. The pointy top of the Sweet Caroline boulder is soon visible.

For the Manaton slope prepare yourself for a sufferfest. The stream in description is more a small river, currently (18/01/2024) crossable by an island hop and fallen tree almost directly in front of Zanussi. Then bash your way up through forestry brush while pulling on loose tree stumps, boulders and mounds of brush to gain the forestry track and psyche yourself up to do it all again on the way back.

For the approach, go 3/400m past the car park to the left of the flat hill spurs (almost to where the road goes into the forest), then head down to the very end where you can pick up the path for the boulders on the Trendlebere Slope
