Crag features

This Crag is small but good for the beginner to intermediate boulderer.

Edgar's Field is a public park in Chester's southern suburb of Handbridge immediately south of the River Dee near the Old Dee Bridge. On the sandstone outcrop towards the centre of the park is the Roman shrine to the goddess Minerva. It is now the only monument of its kind in Western Europe that remains in its original location.

Located just near to this is a large mound of sandstone which was once and old Quarry, the side closest to the river has an exposed face of rock and its here you will find the routes.

The Wave Buttress is the longer face running parallel to the path here the rock is wavy and distorted. The structure is cause by the collapse of soft wet sediment so that different layers become buckled.

The Edgar's Buttress is the one lower in hight and the one facing the gate.
