Crag features

A rugged and spectacular sea cliff consisting of a series of buttresses and walls with good access except in heavy seas. Superb views out to Mana Island and the Porirua Harbour entrance. Climbs currently range from grades 6 to 24 and are predominantly naturally protected on rock of adequate quality. Since the 1980s bolts have been increasingly used for protection.

Good topo here.

Approach notes

Head to Porirua and then north to Titahi Bay township. Find your way to Whitireia Park via Thornley St. After noting the time that the gate closes head past it for 250m and park by some old concrete foundations. There's a track that leads down a spur to the cliffs. Alternatively, head uphill to locate a second track that's useful at high tide/big seas.
