Fun beach bouldering on the Atlantic Ocean/West-facing Saligo Bay. Not a venue to head for if your soul purpose is bouldering, but if you want to head to a very lovely beach and all you require is ok but not great bouldering (pretty good actually, albeit limited), perhaps in the evening with the sun setting into the Atlantic and amidts the waves crushing in, and you find yourself on Islay, then look no further. For most of the problems, the beach with its fine sand is your landing.
The winter storms at the start of 2020 have removed about 1.5m of sand completely changing the character of much of the bouldering. Wavey to Salego trip unaffected. Warm It to Righthand block crack have terrible landings as of March 2020. Haven't checked out the riverside area. Will update when do.
Approach notes
Follow road to Ballinaby, and park North-West of Loch Gorm by a gate, without obstructing traffic through the gate; there is space for 5-6 cars. Head due West over dunes past 2nd world war building remnants, and reach Saligo Bay after a few minutes.

| Lovely venue. Visited Easter 2019. Added some problems which may well have been done before. Sand level was a lot higher than in Topo pics.

| Lovely place. Climbed there a couple of times in April 2019. I have added a bunch of new problems. I'm well aware I may not have been the first on these rocks. Found a nice steep crimpy wall near the river with pebble landings. Did most of theobvious ups. The traverse would be goey.
