Crag features

Schiberg has two the summits, the north at 2043.6m and the south at 2043m, which are separated on the connecting ridge by a notch that requires some scrambling to negotiate, on both sides. The south summit is easily reached from the col Furgge to the east, while the north summit requires a little easy scrambling along the north ridge from pt.1948. This point is best reached along the south-west ridge, which also has a little easy and largely avoidable scrambling, rather than by the the wide, low-angle gully Fanenhöli which is by parts either scree laden or paved with "Schrattenkalk" (limestone pavement). This latter feature is found on both the south west and main north-south ridges, but rarely in such extremes to become tedious.

Approach notes

The easiest approach is the path starting at pt.932 on the east side of the Wagitaler See, which is served by parking areas along the road just before and just after.
