Some recent access issues in the area have lead to the need for climbers to take a more circumspect approach. Access is generally okay, but please continue to keep a low profile at this venue.
Good selection of problems up to ~7A, with some stuff left to be done. Clean rock, easy access, dries very quickly after rain.
The boulders are found in the field just beside a passing place, about 1/4 mile northwest out of the village of Luxulyan. The boulders are clearly visible from the road.
Easiest to park in the passing place beside the field without blocking the gate. If you arrive in two or more cars it's worth considering leaving one car a short distance away in the village hall as the passing place is often used by tractors and lorries simultaneously and you could easily lose a wing mirror or even wing of your car.
No specific permission to climb, but no problems have been encountered. Be considerate when climbing on the boulders if the cattle or any other livestock are present, as they are from time to time.
Amazing rock, shame that the name is so fitting with the amount of cow poo in the landing spots during summer! PilkingtonD - 27/Aug/21 |
