The highest point in Latvia. Cold War watchtower recently demolished with plans to build a new tower. Currently a wooden replica stands in its place.
Ski resort in the winter.
Limited views through gaps in the trees.
Approach notes
Head for Madona, the nearest town. The Gaizinkalns visitors centre is accessed via gravel roads frm either the P30 to the north or P81 to the south.
From the visitor centre follow staircases to the top of the Golgata slope. Follow the Zaka Pastalas path between the trees and slightly downhill towards a gravel road which leads to the top.
