Crag features

Situated alongside the famous GR11 path, surrounded by several 2,500 to 3,000m peaks and below the welcoming Regugio de Bachimana. The Microgranite 'Muro de Las Cascada' (The Waterfall Wall) is home to several well-bolted and compact routes up to 6a+ (but generally lower). All routes are bolted by 'senderolimite', a group of friends who have made an incredible amount of climbing accessible to the lower-middle range of climbing ability. Routes range from 5 to 8 pitches (180-250m height). All belay stances are well equiped, route finding is straight forward and topos can be found online by searching for the route names and crag.

The main routes topos can be found here: http://costraypus.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/viaje-por-el-muro-de-la-cascada-d-250-m.html

Approach notes

Approach: Arrive in Banos de Panticosa, park by the Refugio Casa de Piedra, behind this is well marked and popular GR11 track, follow this north bound track for 2.5km without taking any turn offs for an 1 hour (fast) or 1hr 30 (slow). When you reach a significant opening before you steeply ascend to the refugio, you will find the stunning and obvious south west facing cirque which has 3 or 4 waterfalls cascading down (all year). There are NO clear paths to the crag base. It is reccomended to use a printed topo to identify the chosen climb from the opening and follow the GR11 path untill level with the crags and traverse across the small river, make your way following rough tracks and cairns. All routes are marked by a bolt and ski piste marker.

Descent: The welcoming and warm Refugio de los Ibones de Bachimana is located 5 minutes behind the crag and is very easy to access from the top of the routes, it is open all year round and serves warm and cold refreshments. From the Refugio, head west along the GR11 track and follow this path back to Banos to Panticosa to the car park (1 hour 20 fast, 2 hours slow). Alternatively, you can extend your day by following the GR11
