Crag features

El Invento is the lowest section of the cliffline that eventually reaches its maximum height at the top of the hillside at the Makinodromo itself. The climbs are all of limited height but have hard moves to compensate. The gear is now looking very old on many of the lines. Further up the hill from El Invento is an area where some huge blocks have fallen away from the main face. This is Los Bloques, a complex area with a few short technical routes, and a couple of longer offerings. This isn't a great area but it is worth a look if you are passing.

Approach notes

The crag is usually approached from below. From the railway walk past a little hut 50m up the slope and then head leftwards across the slope to a large tree beneath the crag. If up at Makinodromo, there is a rough path down the slope leading under the other sectors.

El Chorro

A full colour guidebook dedicated the area around El Chorro in Andalusia in Spain. Covering the famous Gorge and all the fine crags near the village, plus many superb outlying areas. The book is in the modern Rockfax style with full colour photo topos, descriptions, symbols and maps, plus loads of excellent action shots.
