Approach notes

5 minutes via slabs

The dome is very easy to spot, along with the parking next to Tenaya Lake-- follow the crowds taking photos of climbers.  Head up the "3rd class" slab to the start of routes.  It's easiest to start behind the large tree and work upwards, traversing right.

Descent:  Two options.

(1) For those keen on sketchy slab, here is the supertopo descent:  Traverse up and left toward the headwall and a big tree about 200 yards away.  Rappel from the tree or downclimb (4th class).  Hike down intimidating 3rd and 4th class slab, generally staying near the headwall.  Climb down a short 4th class friction section below a roof.  Head left through a small notch to get down a 4ft drop, traversing below the 4ft wall. Then head straight down long 3rd class slabs toward the road and lake.

(2) If sketchy slab downclimbs are NOT your thing, consider the hike off.  From the summit, head NW and look for cairns.  There is a climber's trail that takes you around the dome and back to the road with many many carins.
