This remote and extensive mountain, is 3.354 metres or 11.004 feet short of being a Munro (and therefore fairly well left alone by hillgoers).
In latitude (True north), the summit of Ben Hope (N 58.413113°) is about 116 metres further north than the summit of Foinaven (N 58.412069°). Foinaven's latitude and height are from a differential GPS. Ben Hope's latitude is from at least one handheld GPS.
It has several good cliffs for those seeking solitude in superb surroundings.
Cnoc a'Mhadaidh & Creag Dubh are Gneiss, while the crags further south are quartzite.
