Few people climb at Puerto del Viento which means that you will probably have the place to yourselves. Fantastic mountain views, with Ronda in the middle distance.
The crag faces south and so gets the sun for most of the day however there are plenty of trees around the base of the cliff if you feel like a bit of shade.
There is a good spread of routes across the grades from 3 to 8b, both single and multi pitch, with a couple of aid routes thrown in for good measure. Most routes are fully bolted although some will require a rack. The bolt hangers are colour coded which makes route identification much easier. This information is included in the description. Some routes have the names painted at the bottom and some are even legible.
This crag does not appear to be in any guidebook.
A lot of the routes have been re-bolted and the route names reprinted with grades in 2012, the bolts are spaced a long way apart and a clip stick is recommended for the first and even second bolts on some routes. A word of caution on the grades which you may find to be under-graded.
Puerto del Viento lies a few hundred meters north of the main road (A366) between Ronda and El Burgo. Parking is in the obvious flat area near the head of the pass which is signposted. Looking directly at the crag from the parking place and you will see a thin patch of trees about half way up the rock face. At the base of the crag, slightly to the left, is a large tree. Behind this tree is sector espolon falo containing the routes la serpiente to espolon falo.
