Climbs 1
Rocktype Chalk
A cold day on the Chalk © lighty
O.k it's not great but worth a look if your passing. There's 2 or 3 half decent climb's on it, the rest is really just playing on a chossy mix of chalk, soil and air. Some of it is obviously unstable so use your saveloy.Shunting/top roping is not allowed.Half the fun is the fact you shouldn't be there.
We were informed that no climbing is permitted on the old chalk quarry behind the museum at amberley as we descended the climb.
Park right at the end of the museum car park walk along track, face is behind some old kiln's. Don't hang about, get on it do your thing and go. Only a 3/4 to an hour's worth on it. Have fun.
p.s Top roping is strictly forbidden here.
10 meter's of 50-60 degree scree then about 10 meter's of loose chalk wall.It colapses away as you climb it,so you will have to get a move on.Dangerous and unstable. Some protection if you take worthog's. done a free solo once and ended up clinging on an exposed shrub root at the top.Nesting bird's of prey on this cliff so your probably get fined and/or locked up or might get your eye's pecked out.Nice view from the top.
