J.A.Martin, Fontainebleau © magpie

Crag features

Ciruits: White EN, Yellow PD, Orange AD+, Orange AD+, Sky blue D, Blue D+, Red TD+

Another area in Fontainebleau for you to discover. A whole range of grades. And less busy than the other main areas that climbers from the UK tend to visit.

Since a Forest Fire a few years ago the northern part of J.A Martin (over the hill} is clear of trees and therefore can dry quickly.

Rocher Cailleau and J.A Martin merge into one another so check your guide books for specifics problems.

Approach notes

Parking can be found on the D63 between the village Vaudoue and Acheres la Foret.

The start of the yellow circuit can be found walking slightly right fom the parking.

There are two orange circuits here, one goes left from the parking and goes right.

The start of the sky blue curcuit is slightly right from the parking.

The start of the blue circuit can be found on nearly the first boulder you come to from the parking and then heads left and over the hill.

The start of the red circuit can be found heading right from the parking and up the hill a little.

No Access Issues

Please treat the forest with respect.

Do not climb on wet or damp rock (the rock breaks easily, do not try and dry climbs). Do not make fires or BBQs. Keep your shoes clean when climbing. Avoid making noices (playing music and shouting). Take all rubbish home. Try to avoid using the forest as a toilet, please bury it if you do.
