Crag features

From the beginning of sport climbing in Portugal, Guia appeared as one of the most important crags. It was the largest, the best bolted and with the most extreme routes.

The crags are generally south-facing and sheltered from the prevailing winds.

Approach notes

Farol da Guia is 30 mins west of Lisbon on the coast and within walking distance from the new (10 mins) and old (30 mins) part of Cascais town. The station in the old town offers easy access. Alternatively, park near the lighthouse and walk down the steps to the cliffs.
