Crag features

A beautiful and isolated area with a varied collection of routes set amidst some impressive rock architecture. American Dream in Zawn Kellys is the stand-out route hereabouts while Frank's Zawn hosts some dark esoteric test pieces. More recent additions have enhanced the area's adventurous reputation.

Approach notes

From Porthgwarra, follow the coast path north to a point just beyond Carn Barra. Zawn Kellys lies on the small headland at the southern end of Pendower Cove below a marshy area of the cliff-top. Frank's Zawn is immediately north of Zawn Kellys, the two being divided by a narrow ridge with distinctive perched blocks.

These cliffs are situated on an SSSI, and the slopes above them have wet flushes, mires, reed beds, and other important habitats.
