Baldy Point (not Peak)/Quartz Mountain climbs are usually discussed/covered in the same context as the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. The Wichita Mountains Climbers Coalition has a website with plenty of information at http://www.wichitamountains.org/wmcc.html. The area is covered by the Oklahoma Climber's Guide (Chuck Lohn, Hangdog Publishing) which might now be out of print. Most Baldy Point routes are on a single granite dome, not unlike a small version of Tuolumne. It's a beautiful place to climb, quiet and with views across the flat plains of Oklahoma. It can be a little run out (again, like Tuolumne) but the rock quality is mostly excellent.
It's in a state Nature Park and is open all year round. Camping is available with all amenities in Quartz Mountain Nature Park but not around Baldy Point itself. Nearest town is Altus, OK.
